Wordless Wednesday: Toy Building (Oakland)
March 14th, 2012 - Photography, Wordless Wednesday

For those who enjoy the Hipstamatic photos, please check out my review of the #iSnapSF show. And while you’re at it, there is also yesterday’s Fun with Highways installment.

Obviously, this is not actually a toy building. This is actually a functioning plant of some sort along the waterfront in East Oakland. It was not far from our last rehearsal for tonight’s ReCardiacsFly show in San Francisco.

It has a very surreal effect. Toy building is a good title for the photo
Happy WW

I love this shot. I love that it’s done in b/w.
Happy WW!

That is an interesting looking factory. It must be really gigantic since the cars look like toy cars. Great picture. Take care.

Great subject for b&w!
Is this the old Anchor-Hocking glass plant in the Jingletown district?

I love this shot, especially fine in black and white. Reminds me of a movie I once saw in a film class. Don’t remember the title but it gives that same stark feeling.

I just linked your yesterday entry on FB, love the shots! This one makes me think of the 50s.
Such great photos and always enjoy them.

What a great pic!

This was in Jingletown, so it might very well be the plant the Louis suggested.

I thought you were going to say it was a toy-building factory! Good luck with the show tonight!

I love this one! For some reason it seems alienish to me, perhaps because of the black/white setting? Not sure but it makes me think of “War of the Worlds”

Sure looks like a toy building.
I like the b/w pics.

Are those entrails in the sky for real? Looks like some kind of special effect!
Going to read the highway piece now!

I would not have guessed this factory was in Oakland, but somewhere in the midwest perhaps. The Hipstamatic effect gives it a nostalgic feeling. I admire your iphone photos. It’s not always easy to compose something meaningful with so little control.
