We’re back to our usual urban/industrial theme this week with a photo taken near I-280 in San Francisco. It was taken using the Hipstamatic iPhone app.
This is a bit of a preview for an upcoming photo show, which will feature both large and very crafted images, and small iPhone shots like this one. Look for more information on this show in the coming week!
This reminds me of the area under the Jones Falls Expressway in Baltimore where the huge Baltimore Farmer’s Market is held from April-December. It’s a great urban space.
I’ve been using my phone’s camera a bit, too, and gotta say, it’s more of a challenge! Must keep that thing clean or get horrible ghosty highlights on everything!

I lived right off I-80 (Oakland), could look down and see the highway. It was long enough ago that I dunno if 280 was even there yet. :O
The Bay area always has the most interesting scenery; no fair! Love the barrels.

The graffiti made them more lively.
I played too. Mine are here and here.

With the colorful graffiti, the barrels kind of look like soda cans.

Colorful cans or drums below the freeway. It livens up the place. Haven’t tried Hipstamatic yet. Are you an Instagrammer?
