    Interesting! Looks almost Escher-esqe.

This is the dead end of San Bruno Avenue in San Francisco. It is at the southern edge of the Mission and Potrero Hill neighborhoods, and right next the US 101 freeway. The signs are for a major exit off of 101.

This is also the location of Goforaloop Gallery, the site for the visual art exhibition of the APAture Festival.

This was taken around the time of the autumnal equinox in late September. I am quite fond of the quality of the light at this time of year. And regular readers know my interest in these parts of the city landscape, with older highway infrastructure and graffiti.

Oh my goodness! I used to live in Bernal Heights … this photo just brought back so many memories. It was a great house with an incredible view. I miss living there.

Happy WW! Have you ever been on The London Eye? If not, here are some photos of what it is like: http://tinyurl.com/yll4225

We also have the same scene here in Manila :)

    Happy WW!

I don’t even want to imagine the traffic sounds so close to the freeway. Yowzy.

Now that’s really funny ! I am sure with my sense of direction I would certainly land up there, lol !

You have used the lines and light in this one very well.

I like the interplay of the almost golden light and the dark shadows.

Cool picture, like out of a movie. But I don’t see any cats.

The support structures for the signs remind me of hurdles at a track and field meet!

And I agree with you about the quality of the light.

GReat shit. It really does look like the end of the road!

  15. Beth @ 990 Square Says:

There must be a cat hiding under the cars there somewhere! Happy WW!

PS-You’ve inspired me–I think I might use a picture of one of our cats for an upcoming WW!

  16. CatSynth Says:

Actually, I did see a cat along this block, but he ran off before I could get a picture.
The orange tabby in my Street Cats of San Francisco article was not too far from here, either.

Interesting picture and interesting to read your comments. I am glad that you did not keep this completely “wordless”.

    Off the beaten path…graffiti!

I don’t have any of those crazy roads near my house. I sure bet it is easy to get lost on those things.
