Taber Place is one of many narrow alleys that cross the otherwise large city blocks in South of Market (SOMA), San Francisco. These narrow side streets also have some of the old Victorian buildings and row houses that were once common in this neighborhood.
Also, for San Francisco, this area is rather flat and straight-lined, which gives for interesting perspectives (also visible in many of my other SOMA photos).
I’ve always wanted to visit San Francisco. Perhaps we’ll be able to go next time we visit the US. This photo is great because it looks so sunny. Check out the blue sky!
I’m going to have to go through your posts on San Francisco to give me some ideas of what I might want to explore while I’m there in December for 4 days. My husband will be in meetings much of the day and me and my camera want to be occupied otherwise… Like this clean alleyway…
I love a good alley photograph. I took a great series many years ago of an alley in Glendale, CA. I wish I still had them. The alley is gone now, replaced by a mall.
Very interesting photo! That alley looks a lot nicer than ours do in St. Louis! And the sky is so beautiful! Purrs and headbutts, Sabrina, Sam and Simon
Hello! Thanks for passing by and commenting! I really appreciate it! It’s really hard to find nice synthesizer related webpages. Unfortunately they’re most ‘copy and paste’ kinda blogs with more videos and photos than authors’ own text indeed. Hope you find my website cool and visit it more times!
Your photo is beautiful by the way! Congratulations for the blog!

A straight shot…to where?

That’s a really neat picture. I like SF. There’s so much to take picture of, and walking is never boring.
August 20th, 2008 at 12:45 am
Well done. It’s a very good perspective shot. All it needs is a kitty sauntering down the middle of the lane.

Hi. My tastes run to the country scenes, and yet I actually like this photo. Very interesting.

Like this clean alleyway…

Wow – how can a relatively flat photo make me dizzy?
It’s a textbook demonstration of vanishing point. Perfect for teaching drawing!
