These are some of the bare wooden pilings surrounding Pier 43 in the San Francisco. This is an old industrial pier with a large archway and train tracks. It is in a state of disrepair but is being restored. I found whole scene quite interesting and took several photos.

I refer to shapes like these as "henges"

It's an interesting composition. As for the pier, it definitely looks like it has seen its better days.
