These are some of the bare wooden pilings surrounding Pier 43 in the San Francisco. This is an old industrial pier with a large archway and train tracks. It is in a state of disrepair but is being restored. I found whole scene quite interesting and took several photos.
ps: You are more than welcome to use my "piano" playing photo or the animated GIF! I do not know if I will ever become a good player. But I will keep practicing.
I liked our Galveston Pier 19 better, it had a nice seafood restaurant on it. Now it is Joe's Crab Shack Pier 19 which doesn't have nearly such good seafood. It sits next to pier 16-18 BANANA TERMINAL, Del Monte Fresh Produce docks.
Happy WW, I still like your picture (but I like our pier better). Thanks for checking in on Dusty.
..
I like this photo very much. I miss going to the pier and crabbing with my husband, or visiting the farmer's market. This picture brought back fond memories. Thank you.
Henges, lol. I'm going to use that if you don't mind.
I love photos of weathered stuff like this, especially macro shots of weathering. It's another world.
BTW, I've posted the process I used for yesterday's photo.

It's an interesting composition. As for the pier, it definitely looks like it has seen its better days.

June 16th, 2008 at 6:03 am
What a great photo!

Pier Henge — I agree, a very appropriate title.
It leaves one to imagine doings at that spot decades ago.
June 16th, 2008 at 8:40 am
It's interesting to note that the henge design is not a modern invention, by any means.
June 16th, 2008 at 8:41 am
Very interesting arrangement in the pier. Great shot!
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Happy WW!
June 16th, 2008 at 8:53 am

Cool shot! Love the "driftwood" look of those massive, sunbleached piers. ThanX for stopping by via WW.
