just think — one day soon we'll see the boxes on the floor but you'll be UNpacking and getting ready to brew your first pot of coffee in your new home.

hmmm, luna will have a whole brand-new vista to look out over.

here's a hint, if you can pull it off…extra driving between old and new homes required — but it seemed to work for us.

we locked our FOUR cats, with all their gear, in one empty moved-out-of room and moved all our stuff to the new house, leaving them locked up in the room. we took a few hours to set up the furniture so that it would smell and appear like home to them.

then we returned to the old apartment and packed up the cats and their stuff, and upon arriving at the new place set their carriers on the floor and opened the doors. surrounded by all that was familiar, they were happily curious and enthusiastic to explore the "new" surroundings. there were a few moments of "wait, i thought that chair belonged in the other room," but they were so happy to be out of the car that they allowed us to believe we had tricked them.
